Sweetpotato Varieties We Are Growing This Season
Covington
This is our favorite variety! It’s perfect for mashing or roasting and makes a delicious sweetpotato casserole. It is grown on more than 80% of our acres and has rose-colored skin with very sweet orange flesh.
Organic Covington
Organic Covingtons have the same color and taste profile as conventional sweetpotatoes. The difference is the way we grow them. We don’t use any synthetic fertilizers or chemicals and the land has been free of any pesticides for at least 3 years.
Murasaki
This variety is very different from the traditional orange sweetpotatoes. They originated in Japan and have purple/red skin along with starchy white flesh. You can roast these up with your other favorite vegetables for a colorful side dish.
Averre
These sweetpotatoes grow longer and straighter than Covington’s. They have high yields and work great on our farm because they are ready to be planted before Covingtons. They also have great cooking quality because they stay moist and sweet when baked.
Purple Splendor
As the name suggests, this variety has dark purple skin and purple flesh. It produces uniform, blocky to round sweetpotatoes.
Bonita
This variety has sweet, flaky, and dry white flesh with tan skin and is great for frying and roasting.

Farm Pak offers a choice of packaging, from our Farm Pak and Beta Blast brands to the iconic and lovable panda box of our Batata brand of Murasaki sweetpotatoes. All are packed using industry-standard boxes that provide the best transportation of our delicious sweetpotatoes. Our new high-visibility boxes promote the sweet potato’s health benefits and highlight the reasons consumers will buy our sweetpotatoes. All products are palletized and available for shipment, both domestically and internationally.
In addition to boxes, Farm Pak also offers micro-wrapped sweetpotatoes and steamer bags. Both are sold to give consumers an easy and convenient way to enjoy sweetpotatoes by being able to microwave them without compromising texture or flavor.
